Here's what one item
looks like.

The first two are among the 30 free items, so you can open them to see the details. The third is in the full version.

Apply for a Social Security Number (SSN)

What to bring

  • Passport and visa originals
  • I-94 (look it up and print it free at i94.cbp.dhs.gov)
  • Proof of work authorization from DHS (for example, an EAD or I-797). For F-1 students, the I-20 alone doesn't count: you need on-campus work (a DSO letter plus an employer letter), CPT authorization on your I-20, or an OPT EAD. F-1 students without one of these usually can't apply for an SSN yet.

How long it takes About 15 to 30 minutes on site. Once approved, the card arrives in about 5 to 10 business days (longer if DHS has to verify your records by hand).

Common pitfalls

  • If you arrived less than 10 days ago your entry record may not show up yet. Wait 10 days.
  • Make sure you can receive mail at the address you give. The card is mailed, not handed over at the counter.

FAQ

Does the free version really need no email?

Yes, open it and start. Want to continue on another device? A free account is all it takes.

Is payment secure?

Handled by Stripe. We never see or touch your card number.

Is it a subscription?

No. US$9.90 once, no monthly charges, yours for life.

What does "yours for life" mean?

Pay once and your account stays unlocked forever. Whenever we update content or fix links later, your account gets the new version automatically without paying again.

Is this a PDF?

No. It's an interactive checklist you use online, where you can read each item and track what you've finished.

Can I just find this on Google?

A lot of it, yes. The value of My USA Plan isn't secret information. It's putting scattered information in the order you actually need it, with the documents to bring, the official links, and the places people get stuck.

Can this replace a lawyer, an accountant, or a professional advisor?

No. It's a tool for organizing practical information and steps. It doesn't provide legal, immigration, medical, or tax advice.

Does the content get updated?

Yes. This is a web tool, not a one-time download. When a link or a rule changes, we update it. You don't re-download anything.

Can I get a refund?

No. The full version is digital content delivered after payment, so we don't offer refunds. The first 30 items are free with no sign-up, so you can read them before deciding whether to buy. If you were charged twice, or the content doesn't open after payment, email weliveinusa.com@gmail.com with the email you used for the purchase and we'll sort it out.

How do I unlock it after paying?

After payment you're brought back to this site, and this device unlocks all 91 items right away. The email you entered at checkout is your account. On another device, or if it didn't unlock automatically, sign in with that same email. If it still isn't unlocked, email weliveinusa.com@gmail.com with the email you used to buy.
