手機錢包新手教學:把信用卡、駕照和會員卡放進手機,一機暢行美國

Carrying a thick stack of cards is both a nuisance and a risk. With Apple Pay and Google Pay now everywhere, keeping your cards, license, and loyalty cards in a wallet app is simply how people do it. It's convenient, and it's safer.

📌 Adding a credit or debit card

  1. Open Wallet App on iPhone, or Google Wallet on Android.

  2. Tap Add Card, choose Debit or Credit Card, then Continue.

  3. Hold the physical card up to be scanned, or type in the number and expiry date.

  4. Complete whatever verification your bank requires: a text code, or a code in their app.

  5. After that you can pay with Apple Pay / Google Pay at supermarkets, restaurants, and on public transport.

👉 Almost every supermarket, convenience store, and gas station in the US takes mobile payment, so this covers most of daily life.

📌 Adding a digital license or state ID

Some states now support a mobile driver's license (mDL) that goes straight into Apple Wallet:

  1. In Wallet, tap Add Card > Driver's License or State ID.

  2. Select your state and scan the front and back of your license as prompted.

  3. You'll take a selfie and perform some head movements for verification.

  4. Once the state approves it, the license lives in your wallet.

✅ Currently supported: Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio, Hawaii, California, Iowa, New Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Montana, with more being added.
⚠️ Requires an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 16.5 or newer.

👉 Convenient as it is, keep carrying the physical license. Not everyone accepts digital ID yet (some law enforcement and rental companies among them).

📌 Adding loyalty and store cards

Most major US retailers and supermarkets support digital loyalty cards.

👉 These are protected by Face ID / Touch ID too: secure, and one less piece of plastic.

📌 In short: your phone is the wallet now

With a mobile wallet you get:

👉 Once it's all set up, turn on two-factor authentication and backups. With your identity on the device, that's not optional.

Hi, I'm C from Taiwan, and I'm currently running a business in Los Angeles, USA. When I first arrived, it really wasn't easy. Whether it was the language or cultural differences, I spent a lot of time figuring out every little detail. But all those mistakes I made along the way helped me master the rhythm of adapting to life here quickly. I've gathered all my experience over the past few years on this website, hoping to help fellow Chinese speakers settle into American life sooner. Here, I share how to move over, find a job, and handle various daily tasks, saving you plenty of time and helping you avoid unnecessary detours. I hope my experience helps you start your new life in the US smoothly!

Running this site takes real work, and I'm grateful to everyone who supports it. If any of this has helped you, a small contribution keeps the updates coming.
